BIOGRAPHY

The ComputerComposer composes autonomous, futuristic and anarchistic music with musical tools and music machines.Daring composing and crossing boundaries is the aim of the ComputerComponist. Experimenting with innovative sounds, samples, virtual synthesizers and (voice) effects, the ComputerComponist creates his own (experimental) style by using the computer.

By using the computer as a musical medium the name “ComputerComposer” was created. The ComputerComposer also makes music videos to accompany the individualistic electronic music.

The ComputerComposer is from Enschede, the Netherlands, and studied media art from 1989 till 1995 at the art academy AKI in Enschede. Following this he founded the artists’ initiative De Coöperatie (Cooperation) with an artist from Almelo.

Since then many exhibitions have been organized and concerts have been given. The ComputerComposer composed sound sculptures for major art installations that were being built in derelict textile factories. In 2006 the ComputerComposer went solo and now concentrates on making experimental electronic music and video art.

The ComputerComposer has been influenced by Laibach, Kraftwerk and many other electronic music groups and composers from musical history.

The ComputerComposer website, “Departement van Volksvoorlichting en Kunsten” (Department of Public Information and Arts), has been completely dedicated to the ComputerComposer for artistic and musical promotion.
